Using Sippy

Settings and privacy

Manage your daily limit, language, phone visibility, email, and wallet backup from one place.

Where to find Settings

Go to sippy.lat/settings. Everything you can configure lives on this page.

Daily limit

Choose how much you can send per day through WhatsApp and Free gas mode on the web. This protects you if someone else accesses your WhatsApp.

  • Without a verified email: up to $50/day
  • With a verified email: up to $500/day

You can change it anytime. See Spending limits for the full details on how limits work.

Language

Sippy auto-detects your language from your phone number's country code. If you prefer a different language, you can override it here.

Available languages:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • Portuguese

The setting applies to both WhatsApp messages and the web interface.

Phone visibility

Control whether your phone number is visible on your profile.

  • Visible -- people who look up your profile can see your phone number
  • Hidden -- your phone number is private

This toggle exists so you can decide how much you share. Hidden is the safer default if you're unsure.

Email

Add or change the email linked to your account. A verified email unlocks the $500 daily limit and gives you a recovery path if you lose access to your phone.

See Recovery email for the full walkthrough.

Wallet backup

You can back up your wallet's private key from Settings. This gives you a personal copy of the key that controls your funds -- stored by you, not by Sippy.

A few things to know:

  • Keep it somewhere safe. Anyone with this key can access your wallet. Don't share it, screenshot it on a shared device, or store it in an unprotected note.
  • You don't need it for normal use. Sippy handles transactions for you. The backup is there as a safety net -- if Sippy ever shut down or you wanted to move your funds to another wallet, this key is how you'd do it.
  • Back it up once. The key doesn't change. One secure copy is enough.
